It's quiet, takes no longer to boil than I'd expect, and pours very well indeed with no drips. I particularly like that the spout is large enough to fill from the tap without opening the lid, which didn't seem to be the case from comments about other models.

But it does have some way to go to match my last Russell Hobbs, which lasted 20+ years! Predictably after so long perhaps, the biggest change I noticed was that it was lighter and seems more "plasticky" or less solid than the old one (which was pretty similar to this, apart from the colour and slightly re-arranged design features), but I find that's been true of so many things I've had to replace more recently. But, if it does the job for even a few years I'll be a happy bunny at this price. It was dispatched very promptly by EliteHousewares.

Well built, I like the viewing gauge, which means you don't have to boil more than you need. The first one I had had a faulty lid, but it was replaced immediately without quibble. I love Amazon.

I always thought the dearer the better quality,but not in this case.Well done Russell Hobbs.
