Reviews for Premier Housewares 1.7 Litre Stainless Steel Enamel Kettle, Black (Kitchen & Home) the kettle itself looks nice and the whistle worked fine (a very nostalgic sound), but the worst aspect for me was the poorly insulated handle. This meant flapping about with tea cloths or oven mitts to avoid burning oneself. That's poor, unsafe design and materials isn't it?
This kettle is now demoted for camping use only.

If you're in the market for a stove kettle, and if you're swapping from electric kettles, bear in mind you're dealing with open heat sources - especially on gas hobs - so perhaps, in hindsight, I should have factored that in.
Reviews for Premier Housewares 1.7 Litre Stainless Steel Enamel Kettle, Black (Kitchen & Home) For value for money its hard to beat though as expected its rather tinny and thin - surprisingly this doesn't make it boil any faster. The whistle is distinctly weak and pathetic but at least it works. It looks good but even when only 1/3 or half full it takes a long time to boil. Its a great back up if the power goes and you want to use it on gas - it may work faster on an electric hob perhaps.
