  Reviews for Morphy Richards Accents 43771 Pyramid Kettle, Green (Kitchen & Home) I love this kettle, it's precisely the style I was looking for and functions perfectly. The only small niggle I can come up with is that it's slightly tricky to get the lid undone but I'm sure I'll get used to that. I would probably put up with quite a few niggles though in order to keep such an attractive appliance in my kitchen. It's so often the case that you sacrifice some practical or technical element when you choose something that looks good but this seems not to be the case here.

  Some of the reviewers mention a 'plastic' taste - which is odd in a metal kettle! It did give the water a metallic taste for the first few days - I found this was mostly if the water had stood in the kettle so I refilled fresh water each time. This problem stopped after a few days and is fine now even if the water has been in the kettle overnight. We have hard water so maybe this is why it got better for me and not for everyone.

We have not been troubled by the taste problem reported by others. Remember that this is a rapid boil kettle, so it will be noisy when it first starts up. The noise quickly reduces as it proceeds to boil, and we got used to it very quickly. It is very easy to clean - I use limescale balls in mine because we have hard water, and these work very well if cleaned weekly. Use white vinegar for limescale build-up round the lid and spout.
